Still Chill and Nafs Space invite you to a special Shab-e Yalda Soirée. For this upcoming Winter Solstice, we’re coming together to celebrate the return of the light after the longest and darkest night of the year.
Across generations and cultures, this night has been a symbol of protection, hope and connection.
In line with tradition, we’ll stay awake together, read poetry, share fruit, while waiting and trusting that brighter days always return.
Whether you join us solo, with friends or family, we welcome you to an evening of wholesome cultural activities, games and heart-warming food, before we dance the night away.
With candlelit corners that have backgammon and cards, and space for you to sit and chat with each other, we also have some cultural activities lined up for you:

Embroidery and Candle Painting with Still Chill- A mindful art session, for you to try embroidery and personalise a candle to carry your light through the winter
Yarn Art workshop with Therapy.Rugs- Malak will guide us in creating a collective piece of art on canvas with threads and yarn.
Drop-In Sessions:
Live poetry writing with Ali-Ali will sit with his typewriter and create a poem just for you. Each piece is original, written in the moment, and yours to take home as a keepsake.
Fāl e Hafez with Farahnaz-Poetry divination is a cultural practice that runs deep in Persian culture. With Farahnaz, you will get your own unique reading.
Food:
Alongside our full programme, your soul will be nourished by Mana, @theiranianvegan, who will be preparing a delicious sofreh - tablespread. Khooneye khodeteh - it is your home - so feel comfortable and help yourself to a vegan Persian mazze. Special nostalgic snacks will also be available.

After activities and good food, just like any mehmooni or SWANA gathering, we’ll get ready to sing our hearts out with karaoke, shake our shoulders and gherrr those hips with DJ Habibtati and Seksu on the decks.

Come swathe yourself in Doña's plush pink surroundings, sip a signature mezcal cocktail and let yourself be entertained. The line-ups are made up of sparkly up-and-coming talent mixed with established stars. Frida KahLOL is proud to have a special debutante slot for new performers to try comedy for the first time in a supportive (and glamorous) environment.
Tickets are a bargain as "Nothing is worth more than laughing" - Frida Kahlo.
Doors at 6pm and drinks show time is at 7pm. We recommend arriving early enough to secure your favourite chaise longue/table seats.

POETRY IN MOTION with Amy Allen, DJ Spectrum & guests is a night of Spoken Words served up on a bed of house beats. A chance for us to move our bodies and ignite our souls together in the wonderful bosom of Doňa, a vibey queer friendly mezcal bar based in Dalston/ Stoke Newington.
Featuring queer spoken word artists and musicians collaborating with each other in the moment, with the added opportunity for an open mic spot.
Tune in to the rhythm of your own beat as in syncs with others. Allow the words to wash through you, music to move with you, and experience spoken word as you never have before.
Every time will be unique, no combination will ever be repeated. This is an in the moment with the movement experience where we tune in to the collective energy and deliver a night to be fully here and now.

Join us at Dona, Stoke Newington on 11 November 2025 @ 19:00 for our next Queer Poetry Collective night, with all proceeds going to The Common Press, London’s queer bookshop and community space.
Expect a night of extraordinary guest poets, bold new voices, and an open mic (sign-up on the night! open mic’ers are chosen at random — no need to rush down early 💅).
🎤 C.H. Lieberman is a queer writer, performer, and visual artist from South London. Author of the award-winning play Bunny Man and the acclaimed touring show J.O.I., Lieberman’s poetry has appeared in & Change, t’ART Magazine, Trans Tongues, new words {press}, and more. His artwork also featured on the cover of & Change Issue 10.
🎤 AV Bridgwood is a London-based poet with work published in Oxford Poetry, fourteen poems, Propel, and Magma. They were highly commended in the 2025 Forward Prizes and won the 2024 Oxford Poetry Prize. A former Foyle Young Poet and graduate of UEA’s MA in Creative Writing, AV’s debut pamphlet will be published by ignitionpress in 2025.
🎤 William Wyld is a poet and artist from London whose work has been highly commended by the Forward Prize (2025), Creative Futures Awards (2025), and the Bridport Prize (2023). William has performed widely — including at the Queen Elizabeth Hall alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra — and has appeared in Propel, Basket, Lighthouse, Queer Life Queer Love II, and the Live Canon Sonnet Anthology. A Southbank Centre New Poets Collective alum and Poetry Archive Now winner, their debut pamphlet The Butterfly Bush is forthcoming in 2026.

sNOG
SNOG is a queer space for everyone — a night to embrace your camp side, lean into connection, and revel in a more sensual kind of nightlife.
Performance is curated by drag provocateur Orgy Hepburn, bringing a dose of camp, chaos, and theatricality to the dancefloor. The music is filtered through a musician’s lens by DJ and artist T. Priestly, creating a soundscape designed for bodies to move and meet.
At its heart, SNOG is about bringing back snogging — not just kissing, but that spark of connection, eye contact across the room, the soft, electric in-between. There’s a kissing booth if you’re feeling cheeky but no pressure — SNOG celebrates sensuality over sexuality, joy over judgement, and community above all.

SWe're are SO excited to invite you to the fourth installment of our annual FLAARE Fundraiser!
Can't wait for us all to get together with some groovy tunes and the FLAARE fam! This time we're moving away from the festive szn into Spooky szn!!! So come in your hottest fits. FLAARE is a community organisation helping young people gain access to creative opportunities, and supporting youth workers deliver their amazing work by offering workshops and programmes for young people and youth workers across youth hubs and school communities. Why are we running these (totally awesome) FLAARE nights?
We’re currently based in North London and we love to get the community out for a boogie! FLAARE has some amazing friends, so we have curated a tasty selection of the finest funky slammers by the chicest DJs to keep you on the Dfloor all night long. 100% of ticket sales go towards continuing our work enabling access to unique opportunities for young people and youth workers! VERSES Poetry Night, one of the best kept secrets in the scene is back this October celebrating their 7th Birthday. VERSES have showcased the best talent from across the UK, from veterans to first timers - working across a number of London venues to put on eclectic nights of word and verse.
Seeking to make poetry accessible and affordable, our events are affordable and inclusive and our performers touch on everything from race, gender, relationships, sexuality and mental health,
